Hello and welcome to my page in homage of my Honda VFR400R-K NC30

This bike is an absolute stunner that a lot of blood, sweat, tears & not too mention money has been invested

Unfortunately due to the purchase of a brand spanking new Yamaha YZF-R6 (Oh there is a god :-)) I am having to sell the NC so what I have on this page is some pictures of the NC to whet any potential buyers appetite.

I shall give you a rundown of the bike, how I got it, what I have done to it etc.

The History

The bike was manufactured in 1990 and spent 8 years in the hands of our far eastern biking brothers before being imported to the UK. I brought the NC from my (ex) brother-in-law in March 2004 and a bit of a sorry state it was in too, he had unfortunatly had an arguement with a corner which resulted in both him & the bike ending up in field but all credit to him he picked it up & pushed it back to the road before he realised he had a broken collarbone!!! The fairing was completely missing with the only bits intact were the fairing infills and the fairing bracket. The seat unit was slightly broken but intact, on a bonus point the mechanics were all intact & straight (at least where they should be straight)

So this is where my affair with the NC started, it was a crack to ride and went round corners like a rocket although the rear tyre was cracking up due to being stored for several years. Getting over 90 was a giggle with my head being rattled around by the wind blast so I soon decided that I fancied a fairing for protection (that and the fact that my friend with an NC30 kept disappearing down the road with her aerodynamics...damn)

The Rebuild

So I purchased a fairing and single seat unit from ARD Racing http://www.ardracing.com/ and spent the extra £100 for hand polished black plastic, when it turned up the hand polishing left something to be desired so it was off to the local sprayers (Waterlooville Crash Repair Centre - 023 92 250111) for a gorgeous coat of Panther (metallic) Black all over including the tank, the sprayer also fitted the decals before lacquering the whole fairing & seat unit - Many Thanks Mark

Whilst the fairing was being done the wheels were shot blasted & sprayed blue & the forks were also stripped & sprayed blue

Rear Wheel

Whilst the forks had been removed for spraying the headstock was stripped & new bearings fitted, then the headstock was re-fitted & the fixings torqued down properly which cured the really annoying bang every time the bike hit a bump (so much for the MOT centre's insistence that the head bearings were shot!)

The Front calipers and master cylinder was completely stripped down, cleaned & rebuilt with new Honda seals & gaskets then stainless steel braided hoses were fitted to the front, giving the bike the bike immense stopping power (if your a bloke & riding it then you don't have to worry about having children hehehe)

So now I'm getting towards the final parts of the rebuild, a new set of NGK spark plugs, Honda air filter, uprated heavy duty regulator/rectifier, speedo (to replace the one damaged during the original crash), Motrax mechanical KMH - MPH convertor, Bridgestone BT92 rear tyre, front fairing mounting bracket, micro front indicators and a powerbronze tinted double bubble screen (which I cracked whilst fitting...damn, damn, damn!!!!)

When all was done and I finally rolled out the finished article I was mightily impressed as was every one else I showed it too, it was a real buzz to ride it into work & have all the bikers there swarm over it impressed with the finished article.

So there in a nutshell is the story of my NC30, she is my baby & I love her loads but a 2004 R6 what a bonus and so the NC must go to make room in the garage :-(
